Thanksgiving Recap

November 29, 2004 - 11:15 am No Comments

So Turkey break was great fun.  I watched every episode of the O.C. (some twice), went to my uncle’s for Thanksgiving and went to the awesome UT / A&M football game.  First things first…the O.C.  It’s essentially the new Dawson’s Creek for me.  Seth is such an awesome character.  Plus, there’s nothing better than extreme melodrama.  In honor of the O.C. and the holiday season, I made my own Chrismukkah mix yesterday.  Yes, I stole the idea from my A&M friends.  Anyway, the Austin Chrismukkah Collection is a two disc extravaganza packed with 40 songs.  Maybe I’ll put them up on my music page later so everyone can enjoy the awesomeness that is Christmas music.

I guess that brings me to the Lone Star Showdown.  After a truly embarrassing end of the first half, UT came back in true dominating form.  A 52 yard field goal, three sacks in a row followed by an interception, Cedric Benson being…well, Cedric Benson.  It was beautiful.  I’ve never heard the stadium so loud.  Still, after an amazing season and even better end of season, we won’t be going to any of the BCS bowl games.  Most of you probably know nothing about the BCS but it sucks balls.  Utah, though decent, would get their asses kicked by anyone in the top 5.  Oh well, we can only hope that it will all change soon.
So that’s about it…this week I have two papers due and two finals.  Should be loads of fun.  So I’m gonna go work, but I’ll update this weekend.  Hook ‘em horns!

The Disney Challenge

November 17, 2004 - 11:17 am No Comments

I finished my rough draft of my philosophy paper…finally.  I don’t know why I had so much trouble starting it.  Whatever.  So I’m currently in first place in Ryan Mora’s Disney competition.  Here were the rules:

“You must name all of the animated disney movies you can in 20 minutes. here are the rules: MUST be a in the Disney Masterpiece Collection, NO computer animation, NO sequels, I – Ryan Mora, the competition creator, am the absolute final word on all entries. POSITIVELY NO CHEATING (this includes asking others, looking things up online, and looking through your own moives.) You should be able to constitute what is cheating and what is not, I trust you. With all that said, good luck contestant Ryan Ward!”  – Try it out!  I was able to name 28 that she counted.  I’m not sure which ones didn’t count but whatever.  Give it a try, and see if you’re better than me.

Ok, that’s it for now.  This weekend is going to be amazing…I’ll be done with all my work until finals.  Magical.  Talk to you kids later!

Yay for downloading!

November 10, 2004 - 11:20 am No Comments

I downloaded Garden State.  It’s not great quality and its fullscreen…but I downloaded Garden State.  I get to watch it whenever I want.  Be jealous.  Now I’m watching I Heart Huckabees, which is really entertaining.  I can’t wait to finish it.  So this week has kinda sucked…but at least my bio test is over.  Tomorrow I’m going to go watch Carl Bernstein (Watergate journalist) and that’s exciting.  Yeah, feeling kinda weird this week…I think I need to sit in a room and watch movies by myself.  Of course, I can’t do that until I write my philosophy paper…just thought I’d write something.  I’m unoriginal.  Oh, and I accidently deleted all of my May journal entries which really sucks.  Oh well…

Chuck Taylor’s

November 3, 2004 - 11:21 am No Comments

Ok, I’m gonna avoid politics for a day and get back to what I started with on this website. I have something to bitch about. You know what I hate? The side lining on Chuck Taylor’s. I guess I’m too “rough” with my Chucks but the side always comes off. I’ve been taping it back on for a year now and finally the left side of my left shoe came off last week at Taking Back Sunday. I colored it in and you really can’t tell the difference but it’s a pain in the ass. Why don’t they just make it out of a material that will not stretch when your shoe is not perfectly flat? They’ve been making the exact same damn shoe for over 60 years…it’s not that hard people. Oh yeah, and November 18th is the official 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF MY WEBSITE!!!! Yeah!!! I don’t know what I’m gonna do yet but I’ll try to do something special. I mean, I don’t wanna give anything away but there may be a few nude pictures of Brandon. Ok…that is all.

Election Day

November 2, 2004 - 11:23 am No Comments

Watching the election coverage on CNN, Fox News and MSNBC…doesn’t look good for Kerry.  Of course it’s too early to tell (and by the time most of you read this you’ll already know who the new President is) but we may have four more years of oppressing gays, dissolving the separation of church and state and refusing to admit mistakes have been made.  Anyway, enough about politics…

I noticed today that my forum has been active recently…that’s cool if kids don’t like my music or movie choices.  My tastes are always changing…why don’t you let me know what you think I should be watching.  Also, this website is for my friends.  Many of the things on here are inside jokes that might not be taken the right way if you don’t see me on a regular basis.  You may think I’m being a horrible person when in reality it’s just a joke and I actually feel very differently.  Ok, well that’s that.  I’ll try to update a bit more in the next week but no promises.

Go Vote!

November 1, 2004 - 11:24 am No Comments

So I need to really start updating my website again!  A lot has been happening lately…school is going fine and I’m keeping busy.  Our football team kicks ass, but that’s no surprise.  Oh yeah, and I heard something about an election tomorrow.  Hmm, don’t know what that’s all about.  All I know is that some person paid me $10 to wear a sign that said “Vote Nazi” by a big line of people…but seriously, (the four people that read this site) if you haven’t voted yet make sure to get out there and stand in line to cast your vote.  If you live in Austin, I’ll go stand with you to keep you company.  Anyway, the real reason I was suddenly inspired to write a short update was my discovery of the wonder that is the iPod Photo.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Gandalf the White…maybe even a bit too much.  I don’t really even like the click wheel (it’s all about the touch buttons) but holy crap…this iPod is amazing!!!!!  You can actually have pictures showing in full color while you listen to songs!!!  I know it’s pointless and just an excuse to spend more money but I still want it.  Hopefully they’ll have an even better version of this by the time I’m ready to trade in my current iPod.  Ok, enjoy the pictures…
