Family, Football, and Fun!

So this Saturday was awesome!  It was my Dad’s birthday, so my family came up to Austin to celebrate.  We went to eat at Papasitos and then watched UT kick Rice’s ass.  My sister got to see how “real” football games are…not just crappy Friendswood High School games.  Also, we got a lot of people in our section to join us in shouting: Rice!  Sucks! in the same fashion as Texas!  Fight!  Oh yeah, Cedric Benson is a god…that’s all I have to say about that.  Anyway, after the game we had cake and decided to start having fun.

First, Veronica and Ram stole a tall metal object that we later decided was a sign holder (like the ones seen on highways when there’s lots of traffic) for my half-birthday.  I didn’t really know what to do with it so I just put lots of posters on it.  Then we started by climbing the 20 ft. statue of wild horses and riding them.  The statue is right by my dorm and I’ve been dying to climb it since I got here.

Anyway, after that we went to go swimming in this huge fountain by the LBJ Presidential Museum.  The fountain consists of two circles; the outer circle was about five feet below ground level while the inner circle was about five feet away from the rim and five feet above ground.  Anyway, it was not easy to get in and if you missed it was a ten foot fall into shallow water.  Sucks for Jose, because he totally ate his shit when he tried to get in a second time.  So yeah, we swam in there for about 20 minutes while Kistenmacher took pictures and kept guard.  Once we got bored, we moved on to the LBJ fountains.  Since they’re a part of the Presidential Museum, it was probably a federal offense to swim in them but oh well it was fun!

We then went and ran around in the sprinkles outside the Bass Concert Hall and made slip and slides out of the muddy ground.  Finally came the group shower in my dorm and then Veronica slutting it up by sleeping with her second guy in two nights.  What a whore!  Yeah, that’s it for now…enjoy the pictures.

Star Wars on DVD!

Everyone knows that I’m a DVD fanatic…I’ve come to terms with it and actually cut back on my spending in the last year. However, there has always been one DVD set that I would pay any amount of money for. What DVD you ask? Star Wars, of course! This is the new gem of my collection, more so than even the Lord of the Rings DVDs. It’s really rediculous how much I love these movies. Empire is just perfect in every way possible. Anyway, I plan on spending all weekend watching all three movies, as well as the new pieces of trash (that have their moments!) Lucas is trying to pawn off. That, and watching UT kick Rice’s ass. Number 5 baby!

Ok, well I have to study a bit more for my biology test and then get some sleep. Write in my forum, or leave me a message in the guestbook!

I’ll trade you Jeremiah for Jose.

So this weekend was awesome!  We started early on Thursday by going salsa dancing.  Even though I really hate dancing, it was a lot of fun and better than just sitting around my dorm.  After waking up still exhausted and sitting through two classes and a movie, we headed off to College Station to visit Katie for her 19th birthday.  Despite the cultishness, it was a blast!  We had so much fun, and even made a new friend by the name of Robert.  Oh, Robert, Robert, Robert….what can I say to truly capture the essence of this unique individual.  It’s tough, but I’ll try.  Ummm….how about “FREAK OF NATURE!”?  Yeah, that’s pretty good….Or maybe, “the creepiest man I’ve ever met!!”  I think either work; you decide.  Also, at A&M I met a kid from BAS named Andrew…he is really good friends with RJ and Woody.  He’s a little taller than me, a little bigger and has shaggy blonde hair…Anyone know him?

Anyway, after spending the night in College Station we headed back to Austin and prepared for the big event of the night: UT Football!!!!!  We competed against UNT, though in reality it was just a long practice with 80,000 fans.  The game was essentially over in the first five minutes, and the beating didn’t stop until the game ended.  Final score: UT – 65, UNT – 0.  Now that’s what I call an ass kicking.  To celebrate we went to one of the private dorms and hung out in the hot tub/pool for about an hour.

Then today I woke up early (AGAIN!!) and drove to Houston, killing about 5000 lovebugs along the way.  I swear, they were EVERYWHERE!!  My car is disgusting.  Anyway, my dad and I went to the Rice/UofH game with a family friend and then I lounged around the house all night.  Ok, well that’s about everything going on with me…oh!  I have a new roommate now.  Jeremiah changed majors and also moved dorms to be closer to his new classes…so my friend Jose from across the hall (who hated his roommate) moved in with me.  Now I love my dorm, and yada yada yada.  Ok, I’ll write more soon!
