All Star Game and summer fun!

So I finally decided to spend the money my parents gave me for graduation. However, there weren’t many things I really wanted. I have an awesome digital camera, tons of DVDs, action figures and books…everything a good nerd needs. The only thing I really wanted that I didn’t have was an iPod, so I decided to spend the money on buying one. It’s so awesome, I love it. The battery life could be better, but it doesn’t bother me…I’m going to buy a car battery adapter and then I won’t really even have to worry about that. Also, after hearing lots about the batteries dying after 18 months, I paid extra for the 4-year service plan at Best Buy, which will guarantee me a new iPod should the battery fail at any time.

Anyway, I’m really excited. Also, today I got to go to the All Star Game festivities with my friend Jake. It was badass; we saw the AAA All Star Game (Futures Game), went to Fanfest, and then saw the Celebrities/Legends game. Rollie Fingers was awesome, even though he was on the American League team. He made an awesome catch in the 2nd inning and hit a home run in the 3rd….and he was a pitcher! Also, I got to see Dave Winfield, Mike Scott, Will Clark and Ozzie Smith! It was awesome…too bad it didn’t last longer. Thanks Jake!

Finally, when I got back to Fwood, we played poker and then drove 25 minutes to go eat at House of Pies. While I love going into Houston, I think it should be saved for when we’re really bored. Still, it gave us an excuse to go really really fast on the way home. Leahanne started mocking us, so we sped around her a couple of times…then, when we tried to cut her off RIGHT before the 528 exit, we were two seconds too slow and couldn’t afford to turn off the exit…mainly because I didn’t feel like dying. Still, it was a lot of fun. Ok, well I’m gonna go to bed. I’ll try to update more this week, and put a picture of my iPod up!

Greek Night

Greek night was fun…the food was so good! I was mad when I looked this afternoon and saw that my dad had eaten all the leftovers. Anyway, I’ve been spending the last few days increasing my new infatuation with all things Harry Potter. I’ve downloaded, uh, I mean “gone to the theatre and paid to see”, the third Harry Potter and read the fourth book. Let’s just say that the fourth book is one of the best fantasy novels I’ve ever read…and the same can be said about the third book! I can’t wait to read the fifth book, and finally be able to talk about the series with everyone.

Also, I read the user manual to my camera today and found out how to take good pictures in the dark, and how to take panoramic pictures…I haven’t figured out how to work the javascript for it them yet though!
