A few weeks ago, I went hiking in Palos Verdes (PV) for the first time.  Very different from the other hikes in LA, but still great.  This rocky coast is where they have filmed movies like Pirates of the Caribbean.

You can’t really tell, but this is a whale. It was migrating with a partner, right off the coast.

This was an enormous spider near my car. I have a closer version on Flickr, but it’s gross.

Huge fan of Portland. Great vibe, amazing transportation, and more beer than we could possibly try in one weekend. We lucked out with weather, too. Can’t wait to come back for another visit.

Famous beaches, ridiculous overpriced houses, and whale watching. This was my first time to Point Dume (super famous beach used in every movie ever, including Planet of the Apes). Can’t wait to come back during the sunmer

The last week was the longest streak of bad weather since I moved to LA. But it resulted in some cool fog pictures.

I’m excited to have a replica Eames lounge chair in my apartment. I’d love to have the real thing, but can’t fathom spending $4800 on something that isn’t a car. For now, this beauty will do just fine.

I need to remember to bring my DSLR to the Bluffs. We’ve had a series of great sunsets this week, and I’ve struggled to capture each of them on my iPhone camera. Alas, it’s good enough that you get the idea.

Okay, these are the last apartment pictures for a little while.  It’s still a work in progress, but I’m comfortable with the way things are set up for now (except for the temporary wooden dining chair).

My apartment is coming along nicely. I moved all of my stuff on Saturday, and bought some great new furniture today at the monthly Rose Bowl Flea Market. I found a coffee table and credenza for an outrageously low price. After walking away twice, the seller finally offered to deliver the pieces to me in Santa Monica. I’m thrilled with the results.

My dining room is closer to completion. Lots of white, lots of plastic. I bought two knock-off Eames chairs, which are fantastic. Still searching for other chairs to complete the set, but I want something black.
